What’s BIM?
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a collaborative process that leverages intelligent 3D models to generate and manage data throughout a building’s entire lifecycle. This data includes both physical and functional characteristics of the facility, providing a shared knowledge resource for informed decision-making across design, construction, and operation stages.
BIM is the digitization of the construction sector, which utilizes 3D digital models to design, construct and manage built assets. These models are created with intelligent data that allows for highly coordinated documentation and model geometry, resulting in high-quality, cost-effective construction projects. Compared to traditional 2D design and drawing, BIM is a new paradigm that fosters cooperation, innovation and significant cost savings over the entire lifecycle of a building.
