Celebrating 5 Years of Innovation and Growth

Five years ago, a visionary group of professionals recognized the need for a centralized hub for construction product information and Building Information Modelling (BIM) resources in East Africa. This led to the birth of the BLEA, a pioneering initiative aimed at fostering collaboration, efficiency, and excellence in the region’s architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.

From its inception, the BLEA has been driven by a vision to revolutionize the East African construction industry by harnessing the power of BIM. BIM, a digital representation of a building project, fosters collaboration, enhances efficiency, and optimizes resource utilization throughout the construction lifecycle.

The BLEA’s transformative impact has been multifaceted. The company has established itself as a premier provider of construction technology (ConTech). The BLEA platform has also become a hub for knowledge sharing and training, empowering industry professionals to embrace BIM and its transformative potential.

Over the past five years, the BLEA has achieved several significant milestones including:

• Partnering with leading local and international construction brands to provide access to their products and services.
• Establishing a vast library of BIM objects, encompassing a wide range of construction products and materials.
• Conducting numerous BIM training workshops and seminars, and product use trainings – upskilling industry professionals across East Africa.
• Receiving recognition & nominations for the following awards; Kenya E-Commerce Awards, SOYA Awards, and FOYA Awards.
• Receiving recognition for its innovative approach to eCommerce, including winning the eCommerce Startup Competition‘ at the eCommerce Day Africa 2023 organised by Ecommerce Institute in partnership with USAID, eTrade Alliance, and the American Chamber of Commerce, Kenya.

As the BLEA embarks on its next chapter, it stands poised to further redefine the ConTech space in Africa. The future holds immense potential for further growth, innovation, and influence in the African construction and design landscape. The company’s vision for the future is anchored in three key areas:
